Neutrophils in HNSCC Can Be Associated with Both a Worse or Favorable Prognosis
The prognostic significance of tumor-infiltrating neutrophils in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is poorly understood. It is unclear how the presence of neutrophils affects prognosis due to their polarization into cytotoxic N1 or ...

Skap2 is required for β2 integrin-mediated neutrophil recruitment and functions. [PDF]
Integrin activation is required for neutrophil functions. Impaired integrin activation on neutrophils is the hallmark of leukocyte adhesion deficiency (LAD) syndrome in humans, characterized by impaired leukocyte recruitment and recurrent infections. The

Preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and outcome from coronary artery bypass grafting [PDF]
Background: An elevated preoperative white blood cell count has been associated with a worse outcome after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Leukocyte subtypes, and particularly the neutrophil-lymphocyte (N/L) ratio, may however, convey superior ...

Abstract Skin infiltration by neutrophils is a hallmark of the chronic inflammatory skin disease psoriasis, yet the mechanisms underlying neutrophil recruitment and positioning in chronically inflamed skin remain poorly understood. In this study, we demonstrate the significant impact of a total genetic deficiency of secretory leukocyte ...

Enhancement of neutrophil infiltration in histidine decarboxylase‐deficient mice
SummaryThe roles of histamine in the anaphylactic increase in vascular permeability and leucocyte infiltration were analysed in an air pouch‐type allergic inflammation model in histidine decarboxylase‐deficient (HDC−/−) mice and wild‐type mice. In the immunized wild‐type mice, histamine content in the pouch fluid and vascular permeability in the ...

Hybrid Nanofibers for Multimodal Accelerated Wound Healing
Fabrication of wound healing scaffolds based on biocompatible nanofibers. Nanofibers offering high surface area, flexibility, and biocompatibility significantly improved the healing outcome in vivo. Histological, immunological, and anti‐inflammatory markers are noticeably better in treated wounds.

This review summarizes the roles of key central nervous system cell types, the extracellular matrix, and the blood‐brain barrier in neuroinflammation, and their integration into diverse 3D culture systems. It examines major incorporation strategies, including direct co‐culture, hydrogel encapsulation, transwell migration assays, and bioprinting ...
