Host-defence-related proteins in cows’ milk
Milk is a source of bioactive molecules with wide-ranging functions. Among these, the immune properties have been the best characterised. In recent years, it has become apparent that besides the immunoglobulins, milk also contains a range of minor immune-

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Pyrolysis Process and Characteristics of Products from Sawdust Briquettes
The pyrolysis of briquettes made from biomass is an available and economic technological route for the production of briquette charcoal, but by-products (tar and gas) cannot be brought into full utilization, leading to the waste of resources and the ...

Tensor products in the category of topological vector spaces are not associative [PDF]
We show by example that the associative law does not hold for tensor products in the category of general (not necessarily locally convex) topological vector spaces.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Efficacy testing of novel organic fungicides and elicitors: from the lab to the field [PDF]
Novel organic fungicides and elicitors against downy mildew on grapevines were evaluated on grapevine seedlings in a series of indoor screening experiments under controlled conditions and, if they have shown a good efficacy indoors, in a screening ...

New spectral relations between products and powers of isotropic random matrices
We show that the limiting eigenvalue density of the product of n identically distributed random matrices from an isotropic unitary ensemble (IUE) is equal to the eigenvalue density of n-th power of a single matrix from this ensemble, in the limit when ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
