Unconventional mRNA processing and degradation pathways for the polycistronic yrzI (spyTA) mRNA in Bacillus subtilis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The S1025 peptide is the major antidote to the YrzI toxin, which we renamed here as SpyT (Small Peptide YrzI Toxin) and SpyA (Small Peptide YrzI Antitoxin) (1). Degradation of the toxin–antitoxin spyTA mRNA, either by a translation‐dependent cleavage by the endoribonuclease Rae1 (2) or by direct attack by 3′‐exoribonucleases (3), also contributes to ...

The New Mixed Hypoexponential-G Family [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Through viewing out the literature, many generated distributions took a new special form of probability density function (PDF) in which it is written as a linear combination of n other distributions. Therefore, we define in this paper a new type of distributions called "The New Mixed Distribution" form in which a distribution is written as a linear ...

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

You talk what you read: Understanding News Comment Behavior by Dispositional and Situational Attribution [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Many news comment mining studies are based on the assumption that comment is explicitly linked to the corresponding news. In this paper, we observed that users' comments are also heavily influenced by their individual characteristics embodied by the interaction history.

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...
