CEBPG‐Mediated Palmitic Acid Adaptation of Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Drives Metastasis of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a metabolic signaling axis in the OSCC microenvironment where palmitic acid (PA) drives the activation of CAFs. PA uptake triggers CEBPG‐dependent epigenetic remodeling to upregulate ERN1 and TMBIM6, thereby mitigating ER stress. This adaptive program sustains CAF survival and the pro‐metastatic phenotype, establishing this pathway ...

New rat models of iron sucrose-induced iron overload

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 2011
The majority of murine models of iron sucrose-induced iron overload were carried out in adult subjects. This cannot reflect the high risk of iron overload in children who have an increased need for iron. In this study, we developed four experimental iron overload models in young rats using iron sucrose and evaluated different markers of iron overload ...

Synergistic Enhancement of Electrical‐Thermal Properties in KH550/G‐POSS Functionalized BN/Epoxy Composites for High‐Frequency Transformer Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A BN@G‐POSS/EP nanocomposite is developed for high‐frequency transformer insulation in power electronic transformers. Through synergistic interface engineering, it simultaneously enhances thermal conductivity, reduces viscosity, and improves electro‐thermal stability.

Lesion Site‐Targeted Microspheres Modulate Nav1.7‐Related Signaling for Osteoarthritis Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cartilage‐targeted carbamazepine‐loaded WYRGRL‐modified composite microspheres (CBZ/WCOM) anchor to exposed type II collagen in osteoarthritic lesions and release carbamazepine under acidic conditions. This bind‐then‐release platform modulates Nav1.7‐related sodium signaling, Na⁺/Ca²⁺ exchanger‐associated Ca2+ dynamics, and heat shock protein 70 ...

Pemt Inhibition‐Mediated Vdac1 Oligomerization Regulates Mitochondrial Dysfunction, Apoptosis, and Inflammation in High‐Fat Diet‐Derived Liver Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT High‐fat diet (HFD)‐induced hepatic injury represents a pathology observed across vertebrates, yet the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Herein, the present study identifies phosphatidylethanolamine methyltransferase (Pemt), a key enzyme in phosphatidylcholine synthesis, as a critical regulator of mitochondrial homeostasis ...

The E3 Ligase RNF115 Aggravates Pathological Cardiac Hypertrophy via Ubiquitin‐Mediated Degradation of SPTBN1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In response to hypertrophic stimuli, increased c‑JUN phosphorylation upregulates RNF115, leading to SPTBN1 ubiquitination and degradation. which promotes F‑actin depolymerization and YAP activation, driving cardiac hypertrophy. The RNF115 inhibitor DTD effectively suppresses SPTBN1 ubiquitination and cardiac hypertrophy.

Unveiling a Hidden Conversion Pathway in CoSe2 Anodes via Rationally Designed CNT‐Interwoven Hollow Carbon Microclusters for High‐Performance Potassium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rational architectural design of hierarchical, CNT‐interwoven hollow carbon microclusters unlocks and stabilizes a unique monoclinic Co3Se4‐mediated conversion–insertion pathway for potassium storage. This structural confinement effectively guides the reaction kinetics and accommodates severe mechanical strain.

New targeted therapies and diagnostic methods for iron overload diseases

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience, 2018
Millions of people worldwide suffer from iron overload toxicity diseases such as transfusional iron overload in thalassaemia and hereditary haemochromatosis. The accumulation and presence of toxic focal iron deposits causing tissue damage can also be identified in Friedreich's ataxia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, renal and other diseases.
