Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Nuclear Entanglement: New Insights Into the Role of Cytoskeleton and Nucleoskeleton in Plant Nuclear Function

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Of the three types of cytoskeleton known in animals—actin, microtubules, and intermediate filaments—only actin and microtubules exist in plants. Both play important roles in cellular shaping, organelle movement, organization of the endomembrane system, and cell signaling.

Single-cell landscape of long and short glandular trichomes in Nicotiana tabacum leaves

open access: yesiScience
Summary: Glandular trichomes (GTs) play a crucial role in plant defenses and the synthesis of secondary metabolites. Understanding the developmental trajectory of GTs is essential for unraveling their functional significance and potential applications ...

Diversity of Nicotiana species

open access: yes, 2023
The genus Nicotiana is one of the largest in the Solanaceae family and includes more than 80 species. The most well-known and widespread species of the genus Nicotiana is tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum), within which there are numerous cultivars.

In Vitro Live Cell Imaging Reveals Nuclear Dynamics and Role of the Cytoskeleton During Asymmetric Division of Pollen Mitosis I in Nicotiana Benthamiana

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pollen is a male gametophyte of angiosperms. Following meiosis, the microspore undergoes an asymmetric division called pollen mitosis I (PMI), which produces two cells of different sizes: a large vegetative cell and a small generative cell. Polarized nuclear migration and positioning during PMI are important for successful pollen development ...

Expression of the PR-b1" gene in the roots of two Nicotiana species and their amphidiploid hybrid infected with virulent and avirulent races of Chalara elegans

open access: yes, 1993
The expression levels of PR-b1'' gene coding for PR-b1'' protein (a PR-I group protein) were investigated in the roots of two Nicotiana species and their amphidiploid hybrid in response to infection by virulent (84-1) or avirulent (85-26) races of black ...

Arabidopsis AUGMIN8 Contains Two Independent Microtubule Association Domains

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant cells create a plasma membrane‐associated network of microtubules that are nucleated by γ‐tubulin ring complexes primarily through microtubule‐dependent microtubule nucleation (MDMN). This dynamic array organizes into specific patterns in response to developmental and environmental cues to influence primary cell wall construction.
