Significance Statement Contrary to expectation, NUPTs do not necessarily have a deleterious or ultimately neutral impact, nor are they necessarily purged from the genome. Instead, they can proliferate and eventually become fixed, generating new and novel genes, gene regions and regulatory elements, thereby significantly contributing to plant nuclear ...

Zinc Extraction potential of two common crop plants, Nicotiana tabacum and Zea mays [PDF]
A field study was conducted to investigate the efficiency of Zn phytoextraction by Nicotiana tabacum and Zea mays from a soil that had been artificially contaminated by different amounts of ZnSO4 (0, 50, 150, 350, 750 and 1550 mg kg−1 soil) 10 years ...

Characterisation and detection of dasheen mosaic potyvirus in Zantedeschia : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Horticultural Science in Plant Health at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]
Four potyvirus isolates believed to be dasheen mosaic potyvirus, the most frequently occurring virus to infect members of the Araceae, were obtained from Caladium, Colocasia, Xanthosoma and Zantedeschia in world-wide locations.
