Phenotypes and Functional Effects Caused by Various Viral RNA Silencing Suppressors in Transgenic Nicotiana benthamiana and N. tabacum

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2008
RNA silencing suppressor genes derived from six virus genera were transformed into Nicotiana benthamiana and N. tabacum plants. These suppressors were P1 of Rice yellow mottle virus (RYMV), P1 of Cocksfoot mottle virus, P19 of Tomato bushy stunt virus ...

Evaluation of Crossability between Nicotiana benthamiana and Nicotiana excelsior

open access: yesAgronomy, 2021
Wild tobacco species in the Nicotiana section Suaveolentes are promising genetic resources to introduce their disease resistance to cultivated tobacco, Nicotiana tabacum. However, hybrid lethality is observed in hybrid seedlings from crosses between most

Structural and Functional Characterization of EXPO‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, 3D electron tomography (ET), cryo‐ET, and immunogold transmission electron microscopy (TEM) are employed to characterize plant extracellular vesicles (EVs) under physiological conditions. EVs are classified into three distinct categories according to their size, content, and molecular‐marker profiles. Furthermore, Exo70E2‐positive medium

In Vitro Live Cell Imaging Reveals Nuclear Dynamics and Role of the Cytoskeleton During Asymmetric Division of Pollen Mitosis I in Nicotiana Benthamiana

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pollen is a male gametophyte of angiosperms. Following meiosis, the microspore undergoes an asymmetric division called pollen mitosis I (PMI), which produces two cells of different sizes: a large vegetative cell and a small generative cell. Polarized nuclear migration and positioning during PMI are important for successful pollen development ...

T-DNA promoter tagging in Nicotiana tabacum : a thesis presented in fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Philosophy in Genetics at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Plant development is primarily controlled at the level of gene expression. In order to analyse this regulation it is necessary to isolate genes which are involved in organ development through cellular and tissue determination or which respond to ...

Plant cell packs: a scalable platform for recombinant protein production and metabolic engineering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Industrial plant biotechnology applications include the production of sustainable fuels, complex metabolites and recombinant proteins, but process development can be impaired by a lack of reliable and scalable screening methods. Here, we describe a rapid

Comparative efficacy of seed biopriming and soil drenching with Bacillus altitudinis TM22 and Bacillus atrophaeus MCM61 on the suppression of Fusarium wilt of cotton

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Co‐application of Bacillus strains TM22 and MCM61 suppressed Fusarium wilt of cotton. Seed biopriming with Bacillus strains performed better than soil drenching. TM22 + MCM61 improved vegetative and physiological aspects in cotton plants. TM22 + MCM61 enhanced the activity of defense enzymes and defense gene expression.

Redução dos sintomas causados pela Xylella fastidiosa subsp. pauca por meio de aplicação de benzotiadiazole e silício Redution of the symptons caused by Xylella fastidiosa subsp. pauca through application of benzothiadiazole and silicon
