The Role of Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Oxidases in Lung Architecture Remodeling [PDF]

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2017
Chronic lung disorders, such as pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and neonatal bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), are characterized by airway and/or vascular remodeling.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase activation and neuronal death after ischemic stroke [PDF]

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research, 2019
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase (NOX) is a multisubunit enzyme complex that utilizes nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate to produce superoxide anions and other reactive oxygen species.

Measurement of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide & nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate in tomato leaves [PDF]

open access: greenPlant Physiology, 1962
As part of an investigation of the growth of tomato plants supplied with either nitrate or ammonium nitrogen (6), leaves were assayed for NAD4 and NADP. Anderson and Vennesland (1) assayed NAD and NADP in various green tissues and reported recoveries between 50 % and 85 % of NAD and NADP added to spinach leaf extracts.

Bipyridines mediate electron transfer from an electrode to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
Biocatalysts are widely used in industry, but few examples of the use of oxidoreductases, in which enzymatic function often requires electrons, have been reported.

Inhibition of Rat Liver Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Kinase by Reduced Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate

open access: hybridJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1968
Abstract Rat liver NAD kinase (ATP:NAD 2'-phosphotransferase, EC 2.7.1.23) was purified about 70-fold. The Michaelis-Menten constants (Km) for NAD and ATP were 8 x 10-4 m and 2 x 10-3 m, respectively. NAD kinase activity was markedly inhibited by NADH and also NADPH.

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Oxidases and Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease [PDF]

open access: yesAntioxidants
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is characterized by lipid accumulation in the liver due to an excess in their supplies or an impairment in their management.

carba Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate: Robust Cofactor for Redox Biocatalysis. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl, 2021
AbstractHere we report a new robust nicotinamide dinucleotide phosphate cofactor analog (carba‐NADP+) and its acceptance by many enzymes in the class of oxidoreductases. Replacing one ribose oxygen with a methylene group of the natural NADP+ was found to enhance stability dramatically.

Is Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate an Obligatory Intermediate in Photosynthesis? [PDF]

open access: greenPlant Physiology, 1972
The site of action of the inhibitors disalicylidenepropanediamine and pyrophosphate was more closely defined as acting on ferredoxin. Three inhibitors which act on the electron transport path between ferredoxin and NADP: disalicylidenepropanediamine, pyrophosphate, and phosphoadenosinediphosphate ribose, had no effect on photosynthesis in cell free ...

Reduced Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide and Reduced Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Diaphorase Activity in Human Polymorphonuclear Leukocytes [PDF]

open access: bronzeInfection and Immunity, 1974
Total reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) and reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) diaphorase activities were examined in human neutrophils. Approximately two-thirds of each enzyme activity was located in the granule fraction with the remainder in the soluble. The activities in a 27,000 × g

Five Constituents in Psoralea corylifolia L. Attenuate Palmitic Acid-Induced Hepatocyte Injury via Inhibiting the Protein Kinase C-α/Nicotinamide-Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate Oxidase Pathway [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
Psoralea corylifolia L. (PC) is a traditional Chinese herb used to treat yang deficiency of the spleen and kidney in pediatric disease. Our previous studies have found that PC can alleviate the liver oxidative stress of juvenile mice with nonalcoholic ...
