Inhibition of Rat Liver Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Kinase by Reduced Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1968
Abstract Rat liver NAD kinase (ATP:NAD 2'-phosphotransferase, EC 2.7.1.23) was purified about 70-fold. The Michaelis-Menten constants (Km) for NAD and ATP were 8 x 10-4 m and 2 x 10-3 m, respectively. NAD kinase activity was markedly inhibited by NADH and also NADPH.

The processes of the catalytic cycle of the cytochrome system associated with its activation by means of the enzyme Nicotinamide-β-adenine dinucleotide phosphate-H-ferrihemoprotein oxidoreductase [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
The paper presents a theoretical study of the molecular mechanism of activation of the cytochrome P450 system by the enzyme Nicotinamide-β-adenine dinucleotide phosphate-H-ferrihemoprotein oxidoreductase in the catalytic cycle.

Oxidative stress in carotid arteries of patients submitted to carotid endarterectomy. The role of aging process [PDF]

open access: yesActa Cirúrgica Brasileira, 2016
PURPOSE: To evaluated the role of oxidative stress on aging process in patients submitted to carotid endarterectomy. METHODS: Twenty patients were divided into two groups: older group (≥ 70 years old); and the younger group (< 70 years old).

Electrochemical study in both classical cell and microreactors of flavin adenine dinucleotide as a redox mediator for NADH regeneration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The electrochemical reduction of flavinadeninedinucleotide (FAD) is studied in a classical electrochemical cell as well as in two types of microreactors: the first one is a one-channel reactor and the other one, a multichannel filter-press reactor.

Regulation of the Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide- and Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate-Dependent Glutamate Dehydrogenases of Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Bacteriology, 1973
Saccharomyces cerevisiae contains two distinct l -glutamate dehydrogenases. These enzymes are affected in a reciprocal fashion by growth on ammonia or dicarboxylic amino acids as the nitrogen source. The specific activity of the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) (anabolic) enzyme is ...

Diagnosis and epidemiology of red blood cell enzyme disorders

open access: yesThalassemia Reports, 2013
The red blood cell possess an active metabolic machinery that provides the cell with energy to pump ions against electrochemical gradients, to maintain its shape, to keep hemoglobin iron in the reduced (ferrous) form, and to maintain enzyme and ...

Pyrroloquinoline quinone increases the expression and activity of Sirt1 and -3 genes in HepG2 cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Sirtuin (Sirt) 1 and Sirt 3 are nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide ((+))-dependent protein deacetylases that are important to a number of mitochondrial-related functions; thus, identification of sirtuin activators is important. Herein, we hypothesize that
