Temperature and Salting out Effects on Nicotine Dissolution Kinetics in Saline Solutions [PDF]
The dissolution rate of nicotine in aqueous solutions of sodium chloride (NaCl) was investigated at room temperature and 70 °C by quantitatively visualizing the shrinkage rate of microscopic nicotine droplets. Four different salt concentrations were used: 15 wt % (3.0 M), 20 wt % (4.3 M), 25 wt % (5.7 M), and the saturation NaCl concentration of 26 wt %

Attraction of Thrips by Salt Forms of Alkyl Nicotinates and Isonicotinates
Abstract The methyl and ethyl esters of nicotinic and isonicotinic acids are effective attractants for capturing thrips. The salt forms of nicotinic and isonicotinic acid esters dissociate in air and gradually release the attractant. The use of salt forms of alkyl nicotinates or isonicotinates as thrips attractants has not been previously ...

Pd-catalyzed enantioselective aerobic oxidation of secondary alcohols: Applications to the total synthesis of alkaloids [PDF]
Enantioselective syntheses of the alkaloids (-)-aurantioclavine, (+)-amurensinine, (-)-lobeline, and (-)- and (+)-sedamine are described. The syntheses demonstrate the effectiveness of the Pd-catalyzed asymmetric oxidation of secondary alcohols in ...

Nicotine Salts and Synthetic Nicotine: New Challenges for an Old Problem
Smoking is recognized as a chronic disease caused by dependence on nicotine present in tobacco products. and is linked to a number of tobacco related diseases. In addition to this, it is considered a pediatric disease. In Brazil, treatment for smoking cessation since 2004 is offered at all levels of complexity by the National Health System (SUS ...

Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.
