Multiaxial Creep Rupture Life Evaluation for Austenitic Stainless Steels Using Weld‐Type Miniature Cruciform Specimen

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 49, Issue 3, Page 1136-1142, March 2026.
ABSTRACT A multiaxial creep testing technique using a weld‐type miniature cruciform specimen was developed to evaluate the creep properties and rupture life of Super 304H austenitic stainless steel at 973 K (700°C). The cruciform specimen was designed to achieve a plane stress state and overcome material dimensional limitations.

Highly Stable Ion‐Exchange Doping of Organic Semiconductor Single Crystals for Reliable Flexible Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 13, 12 February 2026.
Stable ion‐exchange doping of organic semiconductor single crystals is demonstrated using bulky hydrophobic anions. Electrical conductivity is significantly enhanced and maintained under ambient air and elevated temperatures, while intrinsic strain sensitivity remains intact over 100 000 strain cycles. The approach highlights the critical role of anion

Modulating Surface‐Active Hydrogen for Facilitating Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Electroreduction on Layered Double Hydroxides Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 11, 5 February 2026.
The NiCuFe‐layered double hydroxides nanosheets are synthesized for facilitating nitrate‐to‐ammonia with a high ammonia yield of 1.64 mmol h−1 cm−2, Faradaic efficiency of 94.8% and stability for 15 cycles. The assembled Zn‐nitrate battery delivers a remarkable power density of 12.4 mW cm−2.

Control of Covalent Bond Enables Efficient Magnetic Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 7, 2 February 2026.
Giant and reversible magnetocaloric effect (MCE) is achieved by tuning covalency through sub‐unit‐cell chemical engineering, establishing a novel design principle for effective hysteresis control in magnetocaloric materials. Abstract Magnetic cooling, harnessing the temperature change in matter when exposed to a magnetic field, presents an energy ...

Cryopreserved Human Otic Neuronal Spheroids Self‐assemble for Functional Connectivity Analysis and Long‐term Ototoxicity Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
This study establishes a robust and reproducible protocol for generating human otic neuronal spheroids (hONS) from cryopreserved hPSC‐derived pre‐placodal ectoderm cells. These hONS further differentiate into functional SGN‐like neurons, which extend neurite projections toward both murine hair cells and human cortical organoids, thereby forming ...
