Biomaterial Physical Cues as Gene Regulators for Cellular Agriculture

open access: yesAdvanced Genetics, Volume 7, Issue 2, June 2026.
This review elucidates how biomaterial physical cues—ranging from matrix stiffness to remote electromagnetic fields—serve as extrinsic regulators of gene expression in cellular agriculture. By identifying central mechanotransduction pathways that bridge physical inputs to genetic remodeling, the authors propose the “Material Genome” concept: a ...

Investigating the Ferroelectric Potential Landscape of 3R‐MoS2 Through Optical Measurements

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, Volume 20, Issue 6, June 2026.
3R‐stacked MoS2 contains mesoscopic ferroelectric domains that can be mapped using Kelvin force microscopy. However, this technique is rather slow and requires electrically conductive substrates. We demonstrate that room‐temperature Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy also give similar insight into the ferroelectric stacking order and allow for ...

Super‐High Coercivity Sintered NdFeB Magnets Enabled by High‐Rate Dy/Tb Grain Boundary Synergistic Diffusion

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The surging demand for high‐performance NdFeB magnets has made it essential to achieve ultrahigh coercivity while minimizing the consumption of heavy rare earths. To tackle this challenge, this study proposes a Dy/Tb bilayer grain boundary diffusion strategy and systematically investigates the co‐diffusion behavior of Dy and Tb.

Freestanding Polymer Metasurface Supporting Higher‐Order Optical Resonances for Strong Field Enhancement in TMD Monolayers

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 35, 23 June 2026.
A freestanding polymer metasurface is developed to enhance light emission from atomically thin semiconductors. By supporting higher‐order optical resonances that concentrate electromagnetic fields at the surface, the platform significantly improves coupling between light and WS2 monolayer.

Unraveling Water Sorption in Single‐Crystal MOFs: Insights from Spectroscopy and Modeling on the Role of Structure, Composition, and Guest Molecules

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 34, 17 June 2026.
Water scarcity drives the search for efficient atmospheric water harvesting (AWH) materials. This study explores the impact of metal substitution (Zr to Hf) and linker exchange (fumaric to trimesic acid) on the water sorption performance of MOF‐801 and MOF‐808.

Bottom‐Up Assembly of Amorphous Metal–Organic Frameworks From Proton Conductive Metal–Organic Polyhedra

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 36, 26 June 2026.
Structural control in amorphous MOFs (aMOFs) remains challenging compared to their crystalline counterparts. We report a bottom‐up strategy using metal‐organic polyhedra as predefined building units. By crosslinking these clusters, we preserve intrinsic node functionality within aMOFs, achieving proton conductivity up to 4.8 mS cm−1 at 85°C and 90% RH,
