Ethanol extract of Cymbopogon winterianus on mortality and number of eggs of Tetranychus urticae

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2015
Plant extracts have been studied as a promising source of natural insecticides. This study assessed the effect of the ethanol extract of Cymbopogon winterianus Jowitt (citronella grass) in comparison with an insecticide containing azadirachtin (ICA) on ...

Nim Restrictions

open access: yes, 2004
A number of Nim-like games in which moves are restricted somehow to occur from a single pile are analysed. In each case the complete description of type P and type N positions is obtained. A more detailed analysis of the Sprague-Grundy values of positions in two heap Nim where the move must be from the larger heap is also presented.

Restricted Nim with a Pass

open access: yes, 2022
This paper presents a study of restricted Nim with a pass. In the restricted Nim considered in this study, two players take turns and remove stones from the piles. In each turn, when the number of stones is m, each player is allowed to remove at least one stone and at most the ceiling of m/2 stones from a pile of m stones.

Implantable Ionic Memristors Based on Natural Polymer Heterojunctions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report an implantable natural polymer‐based ionic memristor composed of hyaluronic acid, chitosan, and PDMS. The device achieved 98.94% accuracy in MNIST classification while reducing training time by 36.8% compared with a conventional artificial neural network (ANN).

A Naphthalimide‐Based NIR‐Emissive AIE Photosensitizer for Synergistic Apoptosis/Ferroptosis‐Mediated Antitumor Therapy and Broad‐Spectrum Bacterial Inactivation With Rapid Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An ionic naphthalimide AIE photosensitizer (PS), TPAPV‐NIM‐M, anchors to cellular and bacterial membranes, emits in the far‐red/near‐infrared (NIR) region, and efficiently generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) under white light. Its membrane‐localized photodynamic action drives apoptosis/ferroptosis‐mediated tumor suppression and broad‐spectrum ...

Bank-specific and macro-economic determinants of profitability of Indian commercial banks: A panel data approach

open access: yesCogent Economics & Finance, 2018
This study aims at finding out the determinants of Indian commercial banks profitability. Profitability of Indian banks is measured by three important variables namely, Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE) and Net Interest Margin (NIM).

Spin‐Selective Oxygen Evolution in Chiral Molecule‐Intercalated Layered Double Hydroxides

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This hybrid electrocatalyst utilizes chiral phenylalanine intercalation within layered double hydroxides to boost oxygen evolution. Acting as a spin filter via the chiral‐induced spin selectivity effect, the material directs electron transfer along a lower‐energy pathway.

Supramolecular Protection–Deprotection for Switching Pore‐Surface Functionality in a Crystalline Porous Organic Salt

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A supramolecular protection–deprotection strategy temporally separates the framework construction from pore‐surface activation in a porous organic salt. In Form I, phenolic OH groups are protected by DMSO, enabling framework formation. Stepwise single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal phase transformation (SCSC) affords a dormant intermediate (Form II ...

Autism-ness Does Not Exist, but Autism Does. Part 1: A Critic of the “Spectrum” Position Used to Describe, Diagnose, and Research Autism, and Its Alternative

open access: yesAutism and Developmental Language Impairments
This article presents the historical roots of the dimensional perspective on autism, the epistemological and clinical critics of its assumptions and effects, and offers an alternative to it. Autism is increasingly being described as the “extreme far end”
