Blocking Wythoff Nim

open access: yes, 2010
The 2-player impartial game of Wythoff Nim is played on two piles of tokens. A move consists in removing any number of tokens from precisely one of the piles or the same number of tokens from both piles.

Modular Nim

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1995
We give a survey on modular Nim or Kotzig's Nim is a 2-player perfect information game without chance moves, invented by Anton Kotzig in 1940. A finite move set \(M=\{a_1,\dots,a_m\}\in(\mathbb{Z}^+)^m\) (of distinct elements \(a_i\)) is given, as well as a modulus \(n\in\mathbb{Z}^+\). We imagine the numbers \(0,1,\dots,n-1\) written on equally spaced

Nim-Regularity of Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 1999
Ehrenborg and Steingrímsson defined simplicial Nim, and defined Nim-regular complexes to be simplicial complexes for which simplicial Nim has a particular type of winning strategy. We completely characterize the Nim-regular graphs by the exclusion of two vertex-induced subgraphs, the graph on three vertices with one edge and the graph on five ...

Effect of Metal–Metal Distance on the Performance of Dual‐Atom Catalysts for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction: A Density Functional Theory and Micro‐kinetics Study

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Density functional theory calculations and microkinetic modeling were carried out on 108 dual‐atom catalysts with varied metalmetal distances ranging from 2.2 to 3.5 Å. The results reveal that moderate spacing of around 3.0 Å promotes bridging oxygen adsorption and dissociative reduction pathways, weakens the hydroxylhydroperoxyl scaling relationship ...

Engineering Proton Conductive Metal–Organic Glasses Through Secondary Network Formers

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Incorporating secondary network formers enables access to metal–organic glass with tunable structures and properties. This strategy allows systematic control over key metrics, including anhydrous proton conductivities up to 2.6 mS cm−1 at 150°C, a linear increase in glass transition temperature from 11.0°C to 57.4°C, and more than a 200‐fold increase ...

Chelating Coordination Regulates Perovskite Crystallization and Defect Passivation in Sn–Pb Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A chelating coordination strategy using ethylenediamine diacetate (EDDA) is introduced to regulate crystallization and passivate defects in Sn–Pb perovskite solar cells. Interfacial coordination at both buried and top surfaces suppresses Sn2+ oxidation, reduces defects, and enhances charge extraction, enabling over 23% efficiency with improved voltage,

Extrato metanólico da amêndoa da semente de nim e a mortalidade de ovos e lagartas da traça-do-tomateiro

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2000

Josephus Nim [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
In this study, we propose a variant of Nim that uses two piles. In the first pile, we have stones with a weight of a, and in the second pile, we have stones with a weight of -2a, where a is a natural number.

Scoring Nim

open access: yes
Nim is a well-known combinatorial game, in which two players alternately remove stones from distinct piles. A player who removes the last stone wins under the normal play rule, while a player loses under the misère play rule. In this paper, we propose a new variant of Nim with scoring that generalizes both the normal and misère play versions of Nim as ...

2D Iron Oxide at the Graphene/SiC(0001) Interface

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
2D iron oxide was successfully formed via intercalation of Fe and O into the graphene/SiC(0001) interface. Atomic‐resolution electron microscopy revealed that the 2D iron oxide is encapsulated by graphene and sharply interfaced with SiC. This material is suggested to exhibit antiferromagnetic behavior at low temperatures.
