Titanium Doping of the Metallic One-Dimensional Antiferromagnet, Nb12O29

open access: yesInorganics, 2019
Monoclinic Nb12O29 undergoes a charge ordering transition to form antiferromagnetic Nb4+ chains (TN ~ 12 K) spaced 15.7 Å apart, which are coupled through mediation from a subset of metallic electrons which are present over all temperature regimes ...

Semiconductive Properties of Anodic Niobium Oxides

open access: yesPortugaliae Electrochimica Acta, 2006
The semiconductive properties of anodic niobium oxides formed at constant potential and constant current density to different final voltages have been examined by Mott-Schottky analysis. Thin anodic oxides were formed on sputtered niobium specimens at constant potential in the range of 2.5 to 10 V Ag/AgCl in a borate buffer solution.

Cancer‐associated mutations in endometriosis reframe a benign disease through molecular oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review aims to comprehensively analyse cancer‐associated somatic mutations (CAMs) present in endometriotic lesions, emphasizing their biological roles, spatial distribution and implications for translational applications in medicine. By contextualizing a benign state within a genomic framework, this analysis seeks to establish its value as a ...

Fabrication effects on niobium oxidation and surface contamination in niobium-metal bilayers using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
Superconducting resonators and qubits are limited by dielectric losses from surface oxides. Surface oxides are mitigated through various strategies such as the addition of a metal capping layer, surface passivation, and acid processing. In this study, we

Targeting transcription factors associated with hemoglobinopathies: Lessons from successful interventions and implications for cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the transcription factors, repressive chromatin‐modifying complexes, and epigenetic mechanisms that control fetal hemoglobin repression. Notably, many regulators of γ‐globin silencing also function in transcriptional and epigenetic networks that drive cancer, highlighting opportunities to translate advances in hemoglobinopathy ...

Extracellular matrix remodeling and immune reprogramming drive residual tumor progression of liver cancer after incomplete microwave ablation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

Study of the Nb2O5 Insertion in ZnO to Dye-sensitized Solar Cells [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) have received much attention as an alternative to silicon-based solar cells, due to various advantages. Zinc oxide (ZnO) is an n-type semiconductor employed as photoanode on DSSC.

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

Formation of self-organized niobium porous oxide on niobium

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2005
Abstract Anodization of niobium in mixed H 2 SO 4 /HF electrolytes was investigated. Under optimized electrochemical conditions the formation of self-organized porous Nb 2 O 5 layers was observed. The porous Nb 2 O 5 layers consist of ordered pore arrays with single pore diameters ranging from 20 to 30 nm.

Understanding and Mitigating the Risk of Accelerated Biological Aging in Survivors of Cancer: A Scoping Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Cancer treatment is associated with measurable acceleration of biological aging across epigenetic, telomere, senescence, and immune biomarkers. However, biomarker validation and interventional strategies remain limited, especially in hematologic malignancies, underscoring the need for standardized multi‐omic aging assessments and adequately powered ...
