Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

SNUPN‐Related Muscular Dystrophy: Novel Phenotypic, Pathological and Functional Protein Insights

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SNUPN‐related muscular dystrophy or LGMDR29 is a new entity that covers from a congenital or childhood onset pure muscular dystrophy to more complex phenotypes combining neurodevelopmental features, cataracts, or spinocerebellar ataxia. So far, 12 different variants have been described.

The temporal trends and short‐ and long‐term mortality of people with acute myocardial infarction and rheumatoid arthritis: a nationwide cohort study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Aims We investigated whether a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) affects the quality of inpatient acute myocardial infarction (AMI) care and long‐term mortality post‐AMI. Methods We analysed data from 784,091 adults, 6,047 with a diagnosis of RA, from England and Wales hospitalised with AMI between 2005 and 2019 from the MINAP registry, linked ...

GROWTH, YIELD AND QUALITY OF ZUCCHINI 'SORAYA' VARIETY FRUITS UNDER DRIP IRRIGATION

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum: Hortorum Cultus, 2013
The improvement in zucchini growth in climatic conditions of Poland can be achieved by drip irrigation of plants. The effect of drip irrigation on zucchini plants of ‘Soraya’ variety during different growth phases on size of fruits and content of L ...

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

THE EFFECT OF DIVERSE IODINE FERTILIZATION ON NITRATE ACCUMULATION AND CONTENT OF SELECTED COMPOUNDS IN RADISH PLANTS (Raphanus sativus L.)

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum: Hortorum Cultus, 2010
Plant fertilization with iodine may be an alternative source of this element in human diet. Iodine influence on nitrogen metabolism in plants has not yet been thoroughly described.

Dynamic Precipitation during High‐Pressure Torsion of a Magnesium–Manganese Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An ultrafine‐grained alloy is produced by high‐pressure torsion of solutionized Mg–1.35 wt% Mn. Precipitation of nanometer‐scale Mn particles during deformation provides pinning sites. This prevents the formation of a bimodal grain structure and results in a finer grain size than for pure Mg.
