Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Is nitrate a good biomarker of the nitric oxide status? / Este ionul nitrat un bun biomarker al producţiei endogene de monoxid de azot?

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 2015
Determinarea concentraţiilor in vivo ale monoxidului de azot (NO) este necesară pentru identificarea condiţiilor patologice în care producţia endogenă a acestui compus este redusă sau pentru identificarea unor agenţi care pot genera in vivo acest compus.

Nitrate in drinking water and colorectal cancer risk: A nationwide population‐based cohort study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, 2018
Nitrate in drinking water may increase risk of colorectal cancer due to endogenous transformation into carcinogenic N‐nitroso compounds. Epidemiological studies are few and often challenged by their limited ability of estimating long‐term exposure on a ...

The Saccharomyces cerevisiae amino acid transporter Lyp1 has a broad substrate spectrum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Yeast Amino acid Transporter family members mediate the import of amino acids, ranging from substrate specialists to generalists. Here, we show that the specialist transporter, Lyp1, has a broader substrate spectrum than previously described, with affinity constants spanning from micromolar to millimolar.

Influence of the origin on selected determinants of the quality of pork meat products

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2013
in recent years, great attention has been paid to the quality of eaten meat and its products. There have been launched a lot of promotional campaigns aimed at providing opportunities for the consumption of traditional products. Based on the experiment, a

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

The effect of chloride and sulphate application to soil on changes in nutrient content in barley shoot biomass at an early phase of growth

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2004
In this study experiments primarily aimed at the needs of specification of an adequate soil reserve of labile sulphur were extended by investigations of the impact on interactions in nutrient uptake by a test barley plant. Vegetation (18-day) experiments

Targeting rapid TKI‐induced AXL upregulation overcomes adaptive ERK reactivation and exerts antileukemic effects in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.

Determination of Phenol in Hypersaline Groundwater by Continuous Flow Analysis Method

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2019
BACKGROUND Determination of phenol by the continuous flow analysis method is seriously compromised if the contents of chlorides or nitrates are greater than 0.4g/L in groundwater.

Crosstalk between gut microbiota and tumor: tumors could cause gut dysbiosis and metabolic imbalance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this research, we analyzed the relationship between gut microbiota and tumor. We discovered that both subcutaneous and metastatic tumors would alter the composition and metabolic function of gut microbiota. Meanwhile, fecal microbiota transplantation also indicated the anti‐tumor role of the gut microbiota, revealing the crosstalk between tumor and ...
