Interplay of Backbone Conformation, Morphology and Thermoelectric Properties of Benzodifuranone‐Isatin Acceptor Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Modification of polymer backbone via halogenation and comonomer selection leads to conjugated backbones of different stereoelectronic properties, thin film morphologies, and electrical characteristics. The interplay of conformational isomerism, coplanarity, backbone curvature, backbone orientation, and ordering in thin films, electrical conductivity ...

A “Cool” Route to Battery Electrode Material Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Ice‐stripping, a novel sub‐zero electrode delamination technique, enables >90% recovery of the electrode materials from manufacturing scrap and end‐of‐life batteries. Water is sprayed upon a porous electrode and quickly freezes when placed on a cold surface. The foil is peeled away, leaving behind the black mass with the morphology retained.

Solubility Does Not Matter: Engineered Anode Architectures Activates Cost‐Effective Metals for Controlled Lithium Morphology in Li‐Free all‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Li‐free ASSBs offer high energy and safety but rely on costly noble metals (e.g. Ag) for stable cycling. This study shows that lithiophilicity alone cannot ensure stable Li morphology. By engineering interfacial design to spatially guide Li nucleation and growth, cost‐effective metals are reactivated for dense, aligned deposition—unlocking a broader ...

Revitalizing Sulfide Solid Electrolytes for All‐Solid‐State Batteries: Dry‐Air Exposure and Microwave‐Driven Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Microwave irradiation effectively regenerates Li6PS5Cl degraded by dry‐air exposure, exhibiting 98.3% Li+ conductivity retention while preserving the e−‐insulating property for wet‐processed samples. In stark contrast, conventional furnace heat treatment achieves only 83.8% Li+ conductivity retention and results in a detrimental increase in e ...
