Recent advances and perspectives in ruthenium-catalyzed cyanation reactions
The cyanation reaction has achieved rapid progress in recent times. The ability to exhibit multiple oxidation states increased the demand of ruthenium in the field of catalysis.

Selective NaOH-catalysed hydration of aromatic nitriles to amides [PDF]
The authors gratefully acknowledge the Royal Society (University Research Fellowship to CSJC)The selective synthesis of aromatic and heteroaromatic amides through base-catalysed hydration of nitriles was achieved using inexpensive and commercially ...

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Enable biomass-derived alcohols mediated alkylation and transfer hydrogenation
A single-atom catalyst with generally regarded inert Zn–N4 motifs derived from ZIF-8 is unexpectedly efficient for the activation of alcohols, enabling alcohol-mediated alkylation and transfer hydrogenation. C-alkylation of nitriles, ketones, alcohols, N-

Reaction between Indazole and Pd-Bound Isocyanides—A Theoretical Mechanistic Study
The mechanism of the addition of indazole (Ind)—a bifunctional aromatic N,NH-nucleophile—to cyclohexyl isocyanide coordinated to the palladium(II) center in the model complex cis-[PdCl2(CNMe)(CNCy)] (1) to give the corresponding aminocarbene ...

Biological activity of glucosinolate derived compounds isolated from seed meal of Brassica crops and evaluated as plant and food protection agents [PDF]
Glucosinolates are amino acid derived allelochemicals characteristic of plants of the order Capparales. These compounds are present in seeds of agriculturally common Brassica crops in varying quantities depending on the species (ref).

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Synthetic Applications of the Parkins Nitrile Hydration Catalyst [PtH{(PMe2O)2H}(PMe2OH)]: A Review
The air-stable hydride-platinum(II) complex [PtH{(PMe2O)2H}(PMe2OH)], reported by Parkins and co-workers in 1995, is the most versatile catalyst currently available for the hydration of C≡N bonds.

Effect of dipole polarizability on positron binding by strongly polar molecules [PDF]
A model for positron binding to polar molecules is considered by combining the dipole potential outside the molecule with a strongly repulsive core of a given radius.
