Designing Co–N/C Cathode Catalysts with Dense Atomic Cobalt Sites for Enhanced PEMFC Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cobalt‐based platinum‐metal free catalysts can compete with iron‐based materials as catalysts on the cathodes of fuel cells due to their high site density and activity. This discovery highlights the importance of understanding the active sites responsible for the catalytic activity in these non‐precious metal catalysts.

Surface‐Decoupled Altitudinal and Azimuthal Triptycene‐Fused Tetrapodal Molecular Motors

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Two tetrapodal triptycene‐based light‐driven molecular motors with precisely oriented rotation axes—parallel or perpendicular to a gold surface—achieve full 360° rotation in both solution and as monolayers. The design minimizes surface quenching, enabling functional integration into surface‐mounted nanomachines.

Upconversion Nanoparticles‐Based Multimodal Tumor Therapy Integrating Photoclick‐Induced Aggregation of Gold Nanoparticles and Ceria‐Curcumin Redox Modulation With Inflammation Attenuation Post‐Treatment

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
A multifunctional nanoplatform (USiCeCurAu) integrating UCNPs, AuNPs, CeO2, and TK‐CUR‐TPP enables synergistic PDT, CDT, and mPTT. The AuNPs act as pore lockers, UCNPs convert NIR into UV/Vis emission, which triggers AuNPs aggregation, TPP‐CUR‐mediated mitochondria damage for HSP70 suppression, and CeO2‐enabled dual role in ROS generation and ...

Controlled Dual Activation of Rhenium(I) Photosensitizers and Profluorophores/Prodrugs via a Dissociative Bioorthogonal Tetrazine–Isonitrile Reaction

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Rhenium(I) tetrazylmethyl complexes serve as phosphorogenic bioorthogonal reagents, releasing luminescent and photocytotoxic rhenium(I) 3‐hydroxypyridine complexes and functional payloads upon reaction with 3‐isocyanopropyl derivatives. Their selective lysosomal accumulation in cancer cells and enhanced singlet oxygen photosensitization in acidic ...
