Spin Crossover in Nitrito‐Myoglobin as Revealed by Resonance Raman Spectroscopy

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2016
AbstractThe myoglobin (Mb) heme Fe‐O‐N=O and heme Fe‐O‐N=O/2‐nitrovinyl species have been characterized by resonance Raman spectroscopy. In the heme Fe‐O‐N=O species, the bound nitrite ligand is removed by solvent exchange, thus reforming metmyoglobin (metMb).

Synthesis and Structure of μ-Oxobis[(nitrito)triphenylantimony]

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2004
Triphenylantimony dibromide was reacted with sodium nitrite in aqueous acetone to obtain μ-oxobis[(nitrito)triphenylantimony]. According to single-crystal X-ray diffraction data, the Sb atoms in the molecule have a trigonal bipyramidal coordination. The molecule is centrosymmetric, the two Sb atoms are linked with each other by a bridging oxygen atom ...

Bis(triphenylphosphine)iminium Nitrito(phthalocyaninato)zincate Hydrate

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1996
b(PNP)[Zn(ONO)Pc2−].H2O [Pc2− = (C32H16N8)2−] has been prepared from zinc phthalocyanine and bis(triphenylphosphine)iminium nitrite [(PNP)NO2] in acetone. The Zn atom has a tetragonal pyramidal coordination geometry with the Zn atom displaced out of the center (Ct) of the four inner N atoms (Niso) of the non-planar Pc ligand toward the nitrite ligand ...
