Radiolysis of Nitrobenzene

Radiation Research, 1972
Radiolysis of nitrobenzene shows that most of the radiolytic products can be related structurally to the parent molecule. Of the gaseous products, nitrogen is the most important. Other gaseous products are hydrogen, nitric oxide, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. Major products are phenol, nitrosobenzene, and the isomeric nitrobiphenyls.

Methemoglobinemia: Nitrobenzene ingestion

Journal of the American College of Emergency Physicians, 1978
In an unusually severe case of multiple toxin ingestion, a 48-year-old man ingested approximately 300 cc of Hoppe's Gunpower Solvent #9, which contains kerosene, denatured ethyl alcohol, oil and nitrobenzene. The major manifestation was nitrobenzene-induced methemoglobinemia of rapid onset. Treatment involves the judicious use of 1% methylene blue plus,

Nitrobenzene Isomers

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2001
Several isomers of nitrobenzene (1) and nitrobenzene cation-radical (1+.) were identified as stable structures and their gas-phase chemistry was investigated by the methods of tandem mass spectrometry and combined ab initio and density functional theory ...

Nitrobenzene

2000
Abstract Nitrate can induce similar levels of methemoglobinemia without brain damage (4). Regional accumulation of nitro benzene in the brain also does not appear to play a role in CNS toxicity, as the small amounts of nitrobenzene that pass through the blood-brain barrier do not show increased accumulation in areas of malacia (12 ...

Viscosity of Nitrobenzene

Nature, 1932
WITH the intention of carrying out measurements of the viscosity of liquids, we have studied recently different experimental methods, and have come to the conclusion that, for relative measurements, the oscillating disc method permits of very great accuracy.
