Effect of nitrocarburizing on sulphide layer during nitrocarburizing-sulphurating treatment
Central South University, 2005Compared with the single sulphurating treatment, the duplex treatment of nitrocarburizing-sulphurating can more effectively improve the properties of steel such as friction-reducing, wear resistance and anti-scuffing. Under the same processing parameters, the sulphide layers were fabricated on the surface of CrMoCu alloy cast iron by single ion ...

Fundamentals of Nitriding and Nitrocarburizing
2013AbstractThe nitriding process typically involves the introduction of nitrogen into the surface-adjacent zone of a component, usually at a temperature between 500 and 580 deg C. This article provides an overview of the essential aspects of the thermodynamics and kinetics of nitriding and nitrocarburizing of iron-base materials with gaseous processes. It

Ferritic Nitrocarburized Brake Rotors
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2011<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Ferritic Nitrocarburized (FNC) cast iron brake rotors are proposed as a means to improve corrosion resistance, improve brake lining wear, as well as reduce corrosion-induced pulsation of automotive brake rotors.

Ultraprecision machining of nitrocarburized steels
SPIE Proceedings, 2010Ultra precision machining processes generate surfaces in optical quality and with sub-micron form accuracies. These specifications can be realised by applying single crystal diamond tools with nanometric edge sharpness. Typical workpiece materials are non-ferrous metals which can be machined without significant tool wear.

Development of Nitrocarburizing Steel for Crankshafts
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1999<div class="htmlview paragraph">The purpose of our research is to omit normalizing after hot forging in nitrocarburized crankshafts. Based on fundamental studies about the influence of chemical composition on as-forged and nitrocarburized properties, the authors have developed a new nitrocarburizing steel composed of 0.3% carbon, 0.8% manganese ...
