Salicylic and succinic acids as inducers of phytoimmunity in winter wheat for the management of powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis (DC) Speer f. sp. tritici)

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background Growth regulators play an important role in activating the main signal transduction pathways in response to stress, and their activity is key in the general mechanism to understanding the formation of phytoimmunity under biotic stress.

Full-Fat Soybean Meals as an Alternative Poultry Feed Ingredient—Feed Processing Methods and Utilization—Review and Perspective

open access: yesAnimals
On a global scale, the poultry industry expands its wings in terms of meat and egg production to the masses. However, this industry itself requires a sustainable and permanent supply of different inputs, one of which is poultry feed and nutrition ...

Soybean seed inoculation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Much of the soybean plant\u27s nitrogen requirement is supplied through nitrogen fixation in which atmospheric nitrogen is converted into a usable form for the plant.

How many metals does it take to fix N2? A mechanistic overview of biological nitrogen fixation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
During the process of biological nitrogen fixation, the enzyme nitrogenase catalyzes the ATP-dependent reduction of dinitrogen to ammonia. Nitrogenase consists of two component metalloproteins, the iron (Fe) protein and the molybdenum-iron (MoFe) protein;

SNUPN‐Related Muscular Dystrophy: Novel Phenotypic, Pathological and Functional Protein Insights

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SNUPN‐related muscular dystrophy or LGMDR29 is a new entity that covers from a congenital or childhood onset pure muscular dystrophy to more complex phenotypes combining neurodevelopmental features, cataracts, or spinocerebellar ataxia. So far, 12 different variants have been described.

LIN28B Promotes Cancer Cell Dissemination and Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Children diagnosed with high‐risk neuroblastoma have a 5‐year event‐free survival rate of less than 50% and poor outcomes after recurrence. Deregulation of the LIN28B oncogene can be addressed in these patients. Upregulation of LIN28B is shown to support the metastatic cascade.

Effects of high oleic full-fat soybean meal on broiler live performance, carcass and parts yield, and fatty acid composition of breast fillets

open access: yesPoultry Science
: The effects of high oleic oil full-fat (HO-FF) soybean meal (SBM) on broiler meat quality could lead to value-added food products. This experiment evaluated the effects of dietary normal oleic extruded expelled (NO-EE), normal oleic full-fat (NO-FF ...

Deep-Sea Archaea Fix and Share Nitrogen in Methane-Consuming Microbial Consortia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Nitrogen-fixing (diazotrophic) microorganisms regulate productivity in diverse ecosystems; however, the identities of diazotrophs are unknown in many oceanic environments. Using single-cell–resolution nanometer secondary ion mass spectrometry images of ^(
