USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus in mariculture effluent by an immobilized algae-bacteria system

open access: yesAquaculture Reports
To explore the removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorus in mariculture effluent, Oocystis borgei and Algoriphagus marincola were used to construct an immobilized algae-bacteria system embedded in calcium alginate.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Engineering operational efficiency analysis of Anammox process for mature landfill leachate

open access: yesGongye shui chuli
The mature landfill leachate is a typical high ammonia nitrogen and low C/N wastewater, which is difficult to be treated for nitrogen removal. This study proposed a large-scale SBR-denitrification-Anammox treatment system for mature landfill leachate ...

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Optimizing nitrogen removal in vertical-flow constructed wetland: Effect of glucose addition and aeration duration

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao
【Objective】Constructed wetlands are an effective technique for removing various organic and inorganic pollutants from wastewater. This study investigates the impact of glucose addition and intermittent aeration duration on nitrogen removal efficiency in ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Insight into the nitrogen accumulation in urban center river from functional genes and bacterial community.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Along with urbanization, the intensified nitrogen pollution in urban rivers and the form of black-odor rivers has become one of the biggest concerns. Better understanding of the nitrogen transformations and microbial mechanisms occurring within urban ...
