Antibiotic Susceptibility of Zoonotic Bacteria Isolated From Oral Cavities of Indigenous Dogs From Semi‐Urban Areas in Uganda

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 1, January 2025.
Dog bites lead to bacterial infections. Isolation and identification of zoonotic bacterial species from the oral cavities of indigenous dogs using biochemical tests were carried out. The antibiotic susceptibility profile of the commonly identified bacteria species was established using Kirby–Bauer disk diffusion approach.

The Incidence of Nocardiosis at Pulmonary and Extra – Pulmonary Sites [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2013
Nocardiosis is a rare but well-established opportunistic infection. We are presenting two cases of Nocardiosis diagnosed in the microbiology laboratory, one in an immuno-competent elderly patient and the other in a immunocompromised patient with AIDS.

Bacterial Catabolism of Phthalates With Estrogenic Activity Used as Plasticisers in the Manufacture of Plastic Products

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 17, Issue 11, November 2024.
Here we consolidate knowledge on the recent development of the microbial degradation of phthalic acid esters as co‐contaminants of plastic pollution both at the biochemical and molecular levels with an aim to facilitate the development of new insights into the bioremediation of phthalates in the environment.
