Equivalent Noise Source: An Effective Method for Analyzing Common-Mode Noise in Isolated Power Converters

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2016
The interwinding capacitance of the transformer and the primary-side circuit nodes to ground capacitance are critical coupling path for common-mode (CM) noise in isolated power converters. In order to analyze the CM noise, the transformer interwinding capacitance is usually equivalent to lumped capacitance.

A New Method to Obtain Total Power Receiver Equivalent Noise Temperature

33rd European Microwave Conference Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03EX723C), 2003
A method to obtain more accurate noise temperature of a radiometer at room temperature using commercial noise sources is presented. A low noise amplifier used in a radiometer system has an equivalent noise temperature which adds the contributions of its equivalent noise temperature at each frequency over its operating frequency range.

Worst Case Power/Ground Noise Estimation Using an Equivalent Transition Time for Resonance

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2009
The nonmonotonic behavior of power/ground noise with respect to the transition time tr is investigated for an inductive power distribution network with a decoupling capacitor. The worst case power/ground noise obtained with fast switching characteristics is shown to be significantly inaccurate.

Noise equivalent power calculation: Application to Ga0.96Al0.04Sb avalanche photodiodes

Journal of Applied Physics, 1988
This paper presents a general method of calculation, allowing us to deduce the noise equivalent power in any type of avalanche photodiode. This method is checked by comparing numerical and analytical results for the case of a p-i-n junction. The calculation is applied to some Ga0.96Al0.04Sb diodes in order to estimate their performance and to deduce ...

A Tuning Method Based on Signal-to-Noise Power Ratio for Adaptive PLL and its Relationship with Equivalent Noise Bandwidth

IEEE Communications Letters, 2013
This paper presents a tuning method for an adaptive Kalman filter approach to efficiently track faded global navigation satellite system signals based on empirical knowledge of the signal-to-noise ratio with a special emphasis on equivalent noise bandwidths.

Reducing noise equivalent power in InP DHBT terahertz detector by biasing the collector

2017 International Conference on Noise and Fluctuations (ICNF), 2017
We present the low frequency noise and the photoresponse in InP double heterojunction bipolar transistor (DHBT) THz detectors. A current responsivity of 0.23 A/W and a noise equivalent power of 4·10−10 W/Hz1/2 have been measured at 1 kHz modulation frequency. The collector bias can substantially reduce the noise equivalent power.
