Electrothermal interaction in ferroelectric materials and the noise equivalent power of pyroelectric detectors

Ferroelectrics, 1992
Abstract The need for a precise approach to the study of pyroelectric phenomena, consisting in the allowance for electrothermal interaction in polar crystals, has been substantiated. The electrocaloric effect is responsible for an additional resistance of electric loss the thermal noise of which fully corresponds to the contribution of temperature ...

An Efficient Equivalent Circuit Model for the EMC Analysis of Power/Ground Noise

2008 12th IEEE Workshop on Signal Propagation on Interconnects, 2008
With the ever decreasing feature size and increasing operating frequency, the noise coupling inside the power-ground planes becomes more and more serious. We propose an efficient integral equation method to simulate such electromagnetic compatibility problem.

A reconsideration of the noise equivalent power and the data analysis procedure for the infrared imaging video bolometers

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2014
The infrared imaging video bolometer (IRVB) used for measurement of the two-dimensional (2D) radiation profiles from the Large Helical Device has been significantly upgraded recently to improve its signal to noise ratio, sensitivity, and calibration, which ultimately provides quantitative measurements of the radiation from the plasma.

Consideration on accuracy on road traffic noise prediction model "ASJ RTN-Model 2018" in power level and equivalent noise level

INTER-NOISE and NOISE-CON Congress and Conference Proceedings, 2023
This paper introduces the study on verification of prediction accuracy about road traffic noise prediction model "ASJ RTN-Model 2018" used as standard for prediction of road traffic noise in Japan. The effects of vehicle type classification, traffic volume and regional characteristics on prediction accuracy were examined for the power level LWA ...

“1/f α noise” is equivalent to an eigenstructure power relation

EPL (Europhysics Letters), 2011
The discovery that the power spectrum of a time series of observations has a 1/fα character has been thought to imply that the generating process has some hidden, remarkable, nature, such as self-organized criticality or interaction across multiple scales.

Noise-equivalent power characterization of an uncooled microbolometer-based THz imaging camera

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
A THz camera based on an uncooled microbolometer 160X120 pixel array with nominal pitch of 52 μm has been developed at INO and initial transmission and reflection images showed promise. In the present paper, the characterization of both standard infrared and THz-optimized uncooled microbolometer pixel arrays are presented at both infrared and THz ...

Absolute response and noise equivalent power of cyclotron resonance-assisted InSb detectors at submillimeter wavelengths

Journal of Applied Physics, 1985
Spectra are presented of the responsivity and noise equivalent power (NEP) of liquid-helium-cooled InSb detectors as a function of magnetic field in the range 20–110 cm−1. The measurements are all made using a Fourier transform spectrometer with thermal sources.

Si–MoS2 Vertical Heterojunction for a Photodetector with High Responsivity and Low Noise Equivalent Power

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2019
In this study, we propose the fabrication of a photodetector based on the heterostructure of p-type Si and n-type MoS2. Mechanically exfoliated MoS2 flakes are transferred onto a Si layer; the resulting Si-MoS2 p-n photodiode shows excellent performance with a responsivity ( R) and detectivity ( D*) of 76.1 A/W and 1012 Jones, respectively. In addition,

Refinement method of equivalent source power level determination for traffic noise in urban noise mapping

INTER-NOISE and NOISE-CON Congress and Conference Proceedings
For traffic noise prediction, the predictive models of source power level determination commonly in use are the Technical Guidelines for Noise Impact Assessment in China or the Calculation of Road Traffic Noise model in the United Kingdom, which incorporate traffic flow and car speeds.

Thermal conductance measurements for the development of ultra low-noise transition-edge sensors with a new method for measuring the noise equivalent power

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
ABSTRACT Transition-Edge Sensors (TESs) are sensitive devices us ed in astronomical detectors. Recent projects in ground-based and space astronomy demand the Noise Equivalent Power (NEP) of the TES to be reduced to the limitsneeded for accurate measurements, for example, of the B -mode polarisation of the CMB.
