Noise and distortion figure - an extension of noise figure definition for nonlinear devices [PDF]
Deals in the integration of additive and nonlinear distortion noise contributions into a single new figure of merit: Noise and Distortion Figure, NDF. In the same way as traditional noise figure, NF, was conceived to be a measure of SNR degradation, NDF is now proposed as its extension to nonlinear systems, as a measure of SINAD degradation.

Impact of Noise Bandwidth on Noise Figure
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2019Noise figures (NFs) are defined at each frequency of interest over a 1-Hz bandwidth. Their measurements are often performed over bandwidths of a few kilohertzs to a few megahertzs to accelerate the process and to reduce measurement jitter. These wider bandwidths introduce NF errors that can be substantial [>1 dB measured for a 0.4-dB NF low-noise ...

Noise figure measurements on nonlinear devices
Proceedings of the 17th IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference [Cat. No. 00CH37066], 2001A study of the effect of a cubic nonlinearity on the Y-factor method for measuring noise figure is performed. By hypothesis, the Y-factor technique does not take nonlinearities into account. It is shown that the presence of the nonlinearity largely influences the measured noise figure value. An alternative, single-tone noise figure measurement setup is
