Ultra-Low Noise Figure in Optical Fiber Amplifier by Tailoring the Mode Field Profile of Erbium-Doped Fiber

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
We present a numerical analysis of noise performance improvement of the erbium-doped fiber amplifier by flatting the mode field intensity distribution within the interaction region of erbium ions.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Q-Band LNA-Antenna Co-Design: Exploiting Antenna Matching for System Noise Figure Optimization

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves
This paper presents a novel approach to low noise amplifier (LNA)-antenna co-design in the Q-band frequency range, leveraging the antenna as an integral part of the LNA matching network to achieve broadband noise figure improvement.Unlike conventional ...

Phase sensitive amplification with noise figure below the 3 dB quantum limit using CW pumped PPLN waveguide.

open access: yesOptics Express, 2012
The noise figure (NF) of a phase sensitive amplifier (PSA) based on a periodically poled LiNbO3 (PPLN) waveguide was evaluated in the optical and electrical domains.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Optimizing Low Noise Amplifiers: A Two-Stage Approach for Improved Noise Figure and Stability

open access: yesIEEE Access
This study introduces a new design for a low noise amplifier (LNA) consisting of two stages taking advantage of the inherent lossy properties of the input matching components. By doing this, the design balances the minimum noise figure (NF) and stability,

Intrinsic noise induced resonance in presence of sub-threshold signal in Brusselator

open access: yes, 2011
In a system of non-linear chemical reactions called the Brusselator, we show that {\it intrinsic noise} can be regulated to drive it to exhibit resonance in the presence of a sub-threshold signal.

Passive, broadband and low-frequency suppression of laser amplitude noise to the shot-noise limit using hollow-core fibre [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We use hollow-core fibre to preserve the spectrum and temporal profile of picosecond laser pulses in CBD to suppress 2.6 dB of amplitude noise at MHz noise frequencies, to within 0.01 dB of the shot-noise limit.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
