Speech Denoising Using Transform Domains in the Presence of Impulsive and Gaussian Noises

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
The speech denoising problem in the presence of mixed impulsive and Gaussian noises is investigated by exploiting transform domains. To that end, the proposed noise suppression scheme is a cascaded form consisting of an impulsive noise suppression module

Chamber investigation and evaluation of acoustic properties of materials/Kameriniai medžiagų akustinių savybių tyrimai ir vertinimas/Камерные исследования и оценка акустических свойств материалов

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Engineering and Landscape Management, 2009
Traffic‐generated noise accounts for 60–80% of the noise prevailing in towns. With the aim of reducing the impact of noise on humans, measures and methods of fighting noise in towns and residential areas should be developed.

Shot noise in mesoscopic systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
This is a review of shot noise, the time-dependent fluctuations in the electrical current due to the discreteness of the electron charge, in small conductors.

Environment-Aware Reconfigurable Noise Suppression [PDF]

open access: yesICASSP 2020 - 2020 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2020
The paper proposes an efficient, robust, and reconfigurable technique to suppress various types of noises for any sampling rate. The theoretical analyses, subjective and objective test results show that the proposed noise suppression (NS) solution significantly enhances the speech transmission index (STI), speech intelligibility (SI), signal-to-noise ...

External noise suppression by intrinsic noise in a neuron

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Noises are usually being considered as a detrimental factor in signal processing. The usual method to deal with noise and enhance output signal is reducing noises from different sources. In this research, we demonstrated in a neuronal model that noise in

Noise Suppression With Cryogenic Resonators

open access: yesIEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2021
We show that fast technical fluctuations of microwave signals can be strongly suppressed by cryogenic resonators. The experiments were carried out with sapphire resonators cooled to approximately 6 K at frequencies around 11 GHz. Each sapphire crystal was shaped like a spindle with the rotational and crystal axes aligned within a degree.

Shot noise in a harmonically driven ballistic graphene transistor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We study time-dependent electron transport and quantum noise in a ballistic graphene field effect transistor driven by an ac gate potential. The non-linear response to the ac signal is computed through Floquet theory for scattering states and Landauer-B\"

Medical Image Denoising by Improved Kuan Filter

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2012
This paper focuses on the issue of speckle noise and its suppression. Firstly, the multiplicative speckle noise model and its mathematical formulation are introduced. Then, certain de-noising methods are described together with possible improvements.

Suppression of non-Poissonian shot noise by Coulomb correlations in ballistic conductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We investigate the current injection into a ballistic conductor under the space-charge limited regime, when the distribution function of injected carriers is an arbitrary function of energy F_c(epsilon).

Jet-Noise Suppression [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1962
This paper reviews the various basic concepts the suppression of jet noise through engine or nozzle design. The significant features of each concept are discussed in terms of simple jet-flow models which enable prediction of the noise-generation characteristics of the resulting jet flows.
