Exploring the Potential of Cluster Analysis in Identifying Disease Phenotypes in Calcium Pyrophosphate Deposition: Moving From Intuition to Insight

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Calcium pyrophosphate deposition (CPPD) disease is a heterogeneous condition and is frequently misdiagnosed due to the different clinical presentations and variable disease progression. Aim of this study is to identify clinical phenotypes of CPPD disease by integrating real‐world data from two data sets. Methods Data from the COLCHICORT trial

Data, not documents: Moving beyond theories of information‐seeking behavior to advance data discovery

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 76, Issue 4, Page 649-664, April 2025.
Abstract Many theories of human information behavior (HIB) assume that information objects are in text document format. The ultimate forgery: A semiotic deconstruction of large language models as engines of simulated selfhood

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Information science rests on a compact: its mediating signs maintain a traceable relation to what they describe. Large language models (LLMs) break it architecturally, generating discourse that is statistically plausible yet epistemically ungrounded, while standard metrics (precision, recall, relevance) cannot detect the rupture.
