SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

Digital manufacturing of personalized magnesium implants through binder jet additive manufacturing and automated post machining

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
While magnesium (Mg) is a promising material for personalized temporary implants, the lack of a digital manufacturing solution for Mg implants impedes its potential progress. This study introduces a hybrid manufacturing process that integrates binder jet

ROBUST COLOR IMAGE WATERMARKING SCHEMES IN THE WAVELET DOMAIN [PDF]

open access: yesICTACT Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2010
In this paper, two approaches for color image watermarking in the wavelet domain are proposed. The first approach utilizes only the chrominance content of the color image for watermarking after performing a single level DWT (Discrete Wavelet Transform ...

High Healthcare Utilization Preceding Diagnosis with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Though early diagnosis improves long‐term outcomes, Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) patients often experience prolonged, circuitous paths to diagnosis. To inform diagnostic improvement, we sought to characterize healthcare utilization in the year preceding diagnosis.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
