Rate of decay for the mass ratio of pseudo-holomorphic integral 2-cycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider any pseudo holomorphic integral 2-cycle in an arbitrary almost complex manifold and perform a blow up analysis at an arbitrary point. Building upon a pseudo algebraic blow up (previously introduced by the author) we prove a geometric rate of ...

Nuttall's theorem with analytic weights on algebraic S-contours [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Given a function $f$ holomorphic at infinity, the $n$-th diagonal Pad\'e approximant to $f$, denoted by $[n/n]_f$, is a rational function of type $(n,n)$ that has the highest order of contact with $f$ at infinity. Nuttall's theorem provides an asymptotic

Semiclassical Quantisation of Finite-Gap Strings

open access: yes, 2008
We perform a first principle semiclassical quantisation of the general finite-gap solution to the equations of a string moving on R x S^3. The derivation is only formal as we do not regularise divergent sums over stability angles.

Self-dual noncommutative \phi^4-theory in four dimensions is a non-perturbatively solvable and non-trivial quantum field theory

open access: yes, 2013
We study quartic matrix models with partition function Z[E,J]=\int dM \exp(trace(JM-EM^2-(\lambda/4)M^4)). The integral is over the space of Hermitean NxN-matrices, the external matrix E encodes the dynamics, \lambda>0 is a scalar coupling constant and ...

A cycle class map from Chow groups with modulus to relative $K$-theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Let $\bar{X}$ be a smooth quasi-projective $d$-dimensional variety over a field $k$ and let $D$ be an effective Cartier divisor on it. In this note, we construct cycle class maps from (a variant of) the higher Chow group with modulus of the pair $(\bar{X}

Stress‐Normalized Sensitivity as a Comparative Benchmark for Intrinsically Piezoresistive Nanocomposite Materials in Wearable Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A stress‐normalised sensitivity metric (S = G/Y) is introduced as a materials‐level benchmark for intrinsically piezoresistive nanocomposites. By decoupling electromechanical response (G) from stiffness (Y), the framework enables direct comparison across diverse systems and clarifies design trade‐offs for wearable sensors.

Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.

Tempered Representations and Nilpotent Orbits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Given a nilpotent orbit O of a real, reductive algebraic group, a necessary condition is given for the existence of a tempered representation pi such that O occurs in the wave front cycle of pi.

Foliations with few non-compact leaves

open access: yes, 2002
Let F be a foliation of codimension 2 on a compact manifold with at least one non-compact leaf. We show that then F must contain uncountably many non-compact leaves.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.
