Room-Temperature Ionic Liquids: Excluded Volume and Ion Polarizability Effects in the Electrical Double-Layer Structure and Capacitance [PDF]
We study structures of room-temperature ionic liquids at electrified interfaces and the corresponding electrical double-layer capacities using a self-consistent mean-field theory.

Nucleation‐Controlled Reconstruction of CuOx for Selective CO2 Electroreduction
The ratio of oxygen vacancies (Ov) and exposed Cu2O (111)/(200) of CuOx precatalyst is modulated by nucleation control of Cu(OH)2 precursor. Low Ov ratio and high ratio of Cu2O (111)/(200) in slow‐nucleated CuOx reconstructs to high‐coordinated oxide‐derived copper (OD‐Cu) during electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) and exhibits enhanced ...

Ionic Liquid-Based Non-Aqueous Electrolytes for Nickel/Metal Hydride Batteries
The voltage of an alkaline electrolyte-based battery is often limited by the narrow electrochemical stability window of water (1.23 V). As an alternative to water, ionic liquid (IL)-based electrolyte has been shown to exhibit excellent proton conducting ...

Nanosecond pulse laser texturing yields superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic AA2024 surfaces. Salt‐spray tests show that periodic superhydrophobic patterns suppress pitting, whereas superhydrophilic textures enhance it, linking laser‐induced morphology, wettability, and oxide chemistry to corrosion resistance.

Fluorine-free water-in-ionomer electrolytes for sustainable lithium-ion batteries
The flammability and toxicity of the currently used electrolytes are the concerns that must be addressed. Here the authors show a non-fluorinated and non-toxic ionomeric aqueous gel electrolyte called water-in-ionomer that allows an enlargement of ...

Electrodeposition from supercritical fluids
Recent studies have shown that it is possible to electrodeposit a range of materials, such as Cu, Ag and Ge, from various supercritical fluids, including hydrofluorocarbons and mixtures of CO2 with suitable co-solvents. In this perspective we discuss the

Trace amounts of perfluoro‐1‐butanesulfonyl fluoride enables the regulation of the Zn/electrolyte interface by the generated zincophilic ─SO3H groups with long hydrophobic ─CF2 tails, which adsorb strongly onto the Zn surface, displace water molecules from the inner Helmholtz plane, and reconstruct the electrical double‐layer structure.

Solvent properties influence on corrected limiting molar conductivity of copper (II) salts [PDF]
Изучение влияния свойств растворителя на процессы ионной ассоциации и ионной миграции в растворах несимметричных электролитов проводилось в двойных смешанных растворителях, где основным компонентом был диметилсульфоксид, а вспомогательными − хлорбензол и
