String/Gauge Duality and Penrose Limit [PDF]
Berenstein, Maldacena, and Nastase have recently discovered a particular limit of AdS/CFT correspondence where string theory in a plane wave background is dual to a sector of $mathcal N =4 SYM in a double scaling limit.

We continue our study of string theory in a background that interpolates between AdS3 in the infrared and a linear dilaton spacetime R1,1×Rϕ in the UV.

The convex hull swampland distance conjecture and bounds on non-geodesics
The Swampland Distance Conjecture (SDC) restricts the geodesic distances that scalars can traverse in effective field theories as they approach points at infinite distance in moduli space.

How large are dissipative effects in noncritical Liouville string theory? [PDF]
In the context of non-critical Liouville strings, we clarify why we expect non-quantum-mechanical dissipative effects to be of order E^2/M_P, where E is a typical energy scale of the probe, and M_P is the Planck scale. In Liouville strings, energy is conserved {\it at best} only as a statistical average, as distinct from Lindblad systems, where it is {\

Borophene is introduced as a programmable 2D bio‐interface that organizes DNA through dual boron–sulfur and nucleobase interactions. This molecular architecture enables efficient long‐range nanosurface energy transfer, establishing new design principles for functional nano–bio interfaces and amplification‐free optical biosensing.

F-Theory, spinning black holes and multi-string branches [PDF]
We study 5d supersymmetric black holes which descend from strings of generic $\mathcal{N}=(1,0)$ supergravity in 6d. These strings have an F-theory realization in 6d as D3 branes wrapping smooth genus $g$ curves in the base of elliptic 3-folds.

Species scale, worldsheet CFTs and emergent geometry
We study infinite-distance limits in the moduli space of perturbative string vacua. The remarkable interplay of string dualities seems to determine a highly non-trivial dichotomy, summarized by the emergent string conjecture, by which in some duality ...

Mitochondria‐targeted nanotherapies emerge as a promising strategy for combating aging‐associated neurodegenerative disorders (NDs) by restoring mitochondrial function, reducing oxidative stress, and improving neuronal survival. Recent advances in nanotechnology, therapeutic delivery, and translational research are highlighted, providing insights into ...

The enhancon mechanism in string theory [PDF]
The enhancon mechanism is a specific phenomenon in string theory which resolves a certain naked spacetime singularity arising in the supergravity description related to N = 2 supersymmetric pure gauge theory.

The Annular Report on Non-Critical String Theory
Recent results on the annulus partition function in Liouville field theory are applied to non-critical string theory, both below and above the critical dimension. Liouville gravity coupled to $c\le 1$ matter has a dual formulation as a matrix model. Two well-known matrix model results are reproduced precisely using the worldsheet formulation: (1) the ...
