Non-equilibrium quantum field theory and perturbation theory

Nuclear Physics A, 1995
Abstract The perturbation theory is studied for a non-equilibrium situation of an interacting fermion-boson system. The structure of the Green function expansion is represented in the Keldysh-Schwinger formalism. A non-equilibrium Wick theorem is derived by expressing the expectation values of normal-ordered products, which do not vanish in non ...

Mean field theory for non-equilibrium quantum fields

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1989
Abstract An approximation technique is provided for studying the time development out of equilibrium of thermal quantum fields, when they experience isoentropic but energy-non-conserving evolution. We implement approximately a variational principle that yields the Liouville-von Neumann equation when implemented exactly.

$^{4}$ non equilibrium dynamics and kinetic field theory

1995
Off-shellness and inhomogeneities are in the non-equilibrium dynamics of the lambda phi^4 model are studied using the closed timepath formalism reformulated as kinetic field theory. We take into account initial correlations up to the 4-point functions. The model is shown to exhibit a SO(1,1) symmetry broken by interactions and initial conditions.

Field Theory of Non-Equilibrium Systems

2011
The physics of non-equilibrium many-body systems is a rapidly expanding area of theoretical physics. Traditionally employed in laser physics and superconducting kinetics, these techniques have more recently found applications in the dynamics of cold atomic gases, mesoscopic and nano-mechanical systems, and quantum computation.

Approach to non-equilibrium behaviour in quantum field theory

Annals of Physics, 1989
We study the real-time evolution of quantum field theoretic systems in non-equilibrium situations. Results are presented for the example of scalar /lambda//phi//sup 4/ theory. The degrees of freedom are discretized by studying the system on a torus. Short-wavelength modes are integrated out to one-loop order.

LOCAL MOLECULAR FIELD THEORY FOR NON-EQUILIBRIUM SYSTEMS

2019
Local Molecular Field (LMF) theory is a framework for modeling the long range forces of a statistical system using a mimic system with a modified Hamiltonian that includes a self consistent molecular potential. This theory was formulated in the equilibrium context, being an extension of the Weeks Chandler Andersen (WCA) theory to inhomogeneous systems.
