Systematic evaluation of Business Process Management Systems

open access: yesCLEI Electronic Journal, 2018
Selecting a Business Process Management Systems (BPMS) for an organization requires a thorough evaluation of its capabilities considering the whole support of the business process lifecycle and the organizational environment in which the BPMS will be ...

Modelling non-functional requirements

open access: yes, 2001
We present in this paper the language NoFun for stating component quality in the framework of the ISO/IEC quality standards. The language consists of three different parts. In the first one, software quality characteristics and attributes are defined, probably in a hierarchical manner.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Enhancing Software Sustainability: Leveraging Large Language Models to Evaluate Security Requirements Fulfillment in Requirements Engineering

open access: yesSystems
In the digital era, cybersecurity is integral for preserving national security, digital privacy, and social sustainability. This research emphasizes the role of non-functional equirements (NFRs) in developing secure software systems that enhance societal

The Blind Men and the Elephant: Towards an Empirical Evaluation Framework for Software Sustainability

open access: yesJournal of Open Research Software, 2014
Software sustainability has been identified as one of the key challenges in the development of scientific and engineering software as we move towards new paradigms of research and computing infrastructures. However, it is suggested that sustainability is

A Framework for Blockchain Interoperability and Runtime Selection

open access: yes, 2019
The suitability of a particular blockchain for a given use case depends mainly on the blockchain's functional and non-functional properties. Such properties may vary over time, and thus, a selected blockchain may become unsuitable for a given use case ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Analysis of a Multimedia Stream using Stochastic Process Algebra [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
It is now well recognised that the next generation of distributed systems will be distributed multimedia systems. Central to multimedia systems is quality of service, which defines the non-functional requirements on the system.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.
