Fitting non‐Gaussian persistent data
AbstractThis paper discusses a new methodology for modeling non‐Gaussian time series with long‐range dependence. The class of models proposed admits continuous or discrete data and considers the conditional variance as a function of the conditional mean. These types of models are motivated by empirical properties exhibited by some time series.

ABSTRACT Objective Accurate localization of epileptogenic tubers (ETs) in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is essential but challenging, as these tubers lack distinct pathological or genetic markers to differentiate them from other cortical tubers.

Statistical Characterisation of GNSS Data for a Stationary Receiver using Non-Gaussian Distributions
Accurately characterising datasets is crucial for effective statistical modelling, particularly when analysing Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data.

On the Shaker Simulation of Wind-Induced Non-Gaussian Random Vibration
Gaussian signal is produced by ordinary random vibration controllers to test the products in the laboratory, while the field data is usually non-Gaussian.

Bregman Cost for Non-Gaussian Noise [PDF]
One of the tasks of the Bayesian inverse problem is to find a good estimate based on the posterior probability density. The most common point estimators are the conditional mean (CM) and maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimates, which correspond to the mean ...

Non-Gaussian Statistics of Multiple Filamentation
We consider the statistics of light amplitude fluctuations for the propagation of a laser beam subjected to multiple filamentation in an amplified Kerr media, with both linear and nonlinear dissipation.

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

Fluid Biomarkers of Disease Burden and Cognitive Dysfunction in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
ABSTRACT Objective Identifying objective biomarkers for progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is crucial to improving diagnosis and establishing clinical trial and treatment endpoints. This study evaluated fluid biomarkers in PSP versus controls and their associations with regional 18F‐PI‐2620 tau‐PET, clinical, and cognitive outcomes.

Rao and Wald Tests in Nonzero-Mean Non–Gaussian Sea Clutter
The non-Gaussian nature of radar-observed clutter echoes induces performance degradation in the context of remote sensing target detection when using conventional Gaussian detectors. To enhance target detection performance, this study addresses the issue

In order to study the frequency domain calculation method of non-Gaussian excitation, Gaussian mixture model(GMM) is introduced. The measured non-Gaussian excitation is transformed into probabilistic power spectrum(PPSD) through GMM model, so that the ...
