Hierarchical Gaussian process mixtures for regression [PDF]
As a result of their good performance in practice and their desirable analytical properties, Gaussian process regression models are becoming increasingly of interest in statistics, engineering and other fields.

Non-Gaussian displacement distributions. [PDF]
x-displacement distributions for six different lag times Δ = {3, 6, 15, 30, 60, 120} mins, where δx = x(t + Δ) − x(t) for all time points t ∈ [0, T − Δ] where T is the length of the track.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Non-Gaussian Quantum States and Where to Find Them
Gaussian states have played an important role in the physics of continuous-variable quantum systems. They are appealing for the experimental ease with which they can be produced, and for their compact and elegant mathematical description.

SVM Based on Gaussian and Non-Gaussian Double Subspace for Fault Detection
In industrial production processes, the data usually have high-dimensional characteristics. When a support vector machine (SVM) is used for fault detection, it takes a long time to run.

Non-Gaussianity from inflation [PDF]
Correlated adiabatic and isocurvature perturbation modes are produced during inflation through an oscillation mechanism when extra scalar degrees of freedom other than the inflaton field are present. We show that this correlation generically leads to sizeable non-Gaussian features both in the adiabatic and isocurvature perturbations.

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Model-based clustering of non-Gaussian panel data based on skew-t distributions [PDF]
We propose a model-based method to cluster units within a panel. The underlying model is autoregressive and non-Gaussian, allowing for both skewness and fat tails, and the units are clustered according to their dynamic behavior.

Statistical Characterisation of GNSS Data for a Stationary Receiver using Non-Gaussian Distributions
Accurately characterising datasets is crucial for effective statistical modelling, particularly when analysing Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
