Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

On the asymptotic magnitude of subsets of Euclidean space

open access: yes, 2012
Magnitude is a canonical invariant of finite metric spaces which has its origins in category theory; it is analogous to cardinality of finite sets. Here, by approximating certain compact subsets of Euclidean space with finite subsets, the magnitudes of ...

Boundedness of Calderón–Zygmund operators on non-homogeneous metric measure spaces: Equivalent characterizations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2012
The authors discuss the boundedness of Calderón-Zygmund operators on non-homogeneous metric measure spaces. They prove that the boundedness of Calderón-Zygmund operators on \(L^2\) is equivalent to either the boundedness of \(T\) from the atomic Hardy space \(H^1\) to \(L^{1,\infty}\) or from \(H^1\) to \(L^1\) on the measure space \((X,d,\mu)\) in the

ATG4B is required for mTORC1‐mediated anabolic activity and is associated with clinical outcomes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

Permanence of metric fractals

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2007
The paper studies energy functionals on quasimetric spaces, defined by quadratic measure-valued Lagrangeans. This general model of medium, known as metric fractals, includes nested fractals and sub-Riemannian manifolds.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Invariance under quasi-isometries of subcritical and supercritical behaviour in the Boolean model of percolation

open access: yes, 2015
In this work we study the Poisson Boolean model of percolation in locally compact Polish metric spaces and we prove the invariance of subcritical and supercritical phases under mm-quasi-isometries.

Boundedness for iterated commutators of multilinear singular integrals of Dini's type on non-homogeneous metric measure spaces [PDF]

open access: yesSCIENTIA SINICA Mathematica, 2017
Assume that $(\mathcal X, d, \mu)$ is a geometrically doubling metric space and the measure $\mu$ is an upper doubling measure. This paper focuses on studying the boundedness of iterated commutators, which is generated by multilinear singular integral operators with the function $\bm{b}$ in $\mathrm{RBMO}(\mu)$.
