This study is aimed to update the presence of non-indigenous species in the Sacca of Goro. Data were collected during three sampling campaigns performed in January 2015, June 2017 and October 2017. All the components of the benthic community were identified to species level.

Abstract Our paper highlights the limitations of the framework used by many conservation‐focused programmes that incorporate food security objectives.
