Superlens made of a metamaterial with extreme effective parameters [PDF]
We propose a superlens formed by an ultra-dense array of crossed metallic wires. It is demonstrated that due to the anomalous interaction between crossed wires, the structured substrate is characterized by an anomalously high index of refraction and ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Quantum Hall Effect and Quantum Point Contact in Bilayer-Patched Epitaxial Graphene
We study an epitaxial graphene monolayer with bilayer inclusions via magnetotransport measurements and scanning gate microscopy at low temperatures. We find that bilayer inclusions can be metallic or insulating depending on the initial and gated carrier ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

دراسة تاثير المتضمنات اللامعدنية على مطروقات الفولاذ واطئ التسبيك
The non-metallic inclusions can be found in steel as a result of existence of oxygen and sulpher in form of oxides and sulphides which they have relative low solubility.

Application of Photoelasticy for Study of Lamellar Cracks. [PDF]
In rolled sheets, non–metallic inclusions are distributed along the thickness of the sheet as narrow lines running parallel to the rolling direction. Such inclusions are the nuclei of lamellar cracks.

Theory of enhancement of thermoelectric properties of materials with nanoinclusions
Based on the concept of band bending at metal/semiconductor interfaces as an energy filter for electrons, we present a theory for the enhancement of the thermoelectric properties of semiconductor materials with metallic nanoinclusions.

Expectation Propagation for Nonlinear Inverse Problems -- with an Application to Electrical Impedance Tomography [PDF]
In this paper, we study a fast approximate inference method based on expectation propagation for exploring the posterior probability distribution arising from the Bayesian formulation of nonlinear inverse problems. It is capable of efficiently delivering

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Rotating bending fatigue behavior of medium carbon Cr and W nitriding bearing steel
Aiming at the problem that the failure mode of bearing steels is mainly fatigue failure, RBF (rotating bending fatigue) test of medium carbon Cr and W nitriding bearing steel and analysis are conducted for the medium carbon Cr and W nitriding bearing ...
