PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

ARE CROP YIELDS NORMALLY DISTRIBUTED? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper revisits the issue of crop yield distributions using improved model specifications, estimation and testing procedures that address the methodological concerns raised in recent literature that could have invalidated previous conclusions of ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Linear Profile Monitoring in the Presence of Non-Normality and Autocorrelation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Industrial Engineering and Production Research, 2010
In an increasing number of practical situations, the quality of a process or product can be effectively characterized and summarized by a profile. A profile is usually a functional relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Estudio de simulación sobre la potencia y sensibilidad de dieciséis pruebas de normalidad en distintos escenarios de no normalidad

open access: yesTecnoLógicas
In data analysis, validating the normality assumption is crucial for determining the suitability of applying parametric methods. The objective of this research was to compare the power and sensitivity of sixteen normality tests, classified according to ...

Exact optimal and adaptive inference in regression models under heteroskedasticity and non-normality of unknown forms [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we derive simple point-optimal sign-based tests in the context of linear and nonlinear regression models with fixed regressors. These tests are exact, distribution-free, robust against heteroskedasticity of unknown form, and they may be ...

The Stochastic Unit Root Model And Fractional Integration: An Extension To The Seasonal Case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In a recent paper, Yoon (2003) shows that the Stochastic Unit Root (STUR) model is closely related to long memory processes, and, in particular, that it is a special case of an I(d) process, with d = 1.5.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
