Conditional Asset Allocation under Non-Normality: How Costly is the Mean-Variance Criterion? [PDF]
We evaluate how departure from normality may affect the conditional allocation of wealth. The expected utility function is approximated by a forth-order Taylor expansion that allows for non-normal returns.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Posterior Precision for Non-Normal Distributions [PDF]
Summary The result “average posterior precision equals or exceeds prior precision plus average observation precision” is proved for any distributions of a single variable. The “average” used is in effect a harmonic mean.

The Central Bank Inflation Bias in the Presence of Asymmetric Preferences and Non-Normal Shocks [PDF]
We investigate the nature of the inflation bias in a model that exhibits asymmetries in preferences and non–normality in shocks but simplifies to the classic Barro-Gordon problem as a special case.

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Classification of Non-normal Quartic Surfaces [PDF]
The author studies the hypersurfaces \(X^ 4\) of degree 4 in \({\mathbb{P}}^ 3\) over \({\mathbb{C}}\), and especially the non-normal ones. They are classified into three cases: \((I)\quad cone\) over a singular plane quartic curve; \((II)\quad birational\) image of an elliptic ruled surface (which can be described more explicitly); \((III)\quad ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

In this thesis, we propose to formally derive amplitude equations governing the weakly nonlinear evolution of non-normal dynamical systems, when they respond to harmonic or stochastic forcing, or to an initial condition. This approach reconciles the non-modal nature of these growth mechanisms and the need for a centre manifold to project the leading ...

AUTOREGRESSIVE CONDITIONAL HETEROSKEDASTICY UNDER ERROR-TERM NON-NORMALITY [PDF]
This paper explores the impact of error-term non-normality on the performance of the normal-error Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedastic (GARCH) model under small and moderate sample sizes.
