Shape identification method for specified deformed mode of free-form shells
In this paper, we present a shape identification method of free-form shells for controlling the static deformation mode to the desired one. It is assumed that the shell is varied in the out-of-plane direction to the surface and the thickness is constant.

The treatment of ties in non-parametric tests. [PDF]
Thesis (M.A.)--Boston UniversityIn most of the non-parametric methods, only a few general assumptions are made concerning the underlying distribution of the population from which a certain sample is drawn. One of the most frequent of these assumptions is

What is the most sensitive measure of water maze probe test performance?
The water maze is commonly used to assay spatial cognition, or, more generally, learning and memory in experimental rodent models. In the water maze, mice or rats are trained to navigate to a platform located below the water’s surface.

Parametric vs. non-parametric methods for estimating option implied risk-neutral densities: the case of the exchange rate Mexican peso – US dollar. [PDF]
This research paper presents statistical comparisons between two methods that are commonly used to estimate option implied Risk-Neutral Densities (RND). These are: 1) mixture of lognormals (MXL); and, 2) volatility function technique (VFT). The former is

Using Non-Parametric Tests to Evaluate Traffic Forecasting Performance. [PDF]
This paper proposes the use of a number of nonparametric comparison methods for evaluating traffic flow forecasting techniques. The advantage to these methods is that they are free of any distributional assumptions and can be legitimately used on small ...

The Market-Timing Ability of Chinese Equity Securities Investment Funds
This study examines the market-timing performance of Chinese equity securities investment funds during the period from May 2003 to May 2014 using the parametric tests of Treynor–Mazuy and Henriksson–Merton as well as the Jiang non-parametric test.

Efficient Non-parametric Bayesian Hawkes Processes [PDF]
In this paper, we develop an efficient nonparametric Bayesian estimation of the kernel function of Hawkes processes. The non-parametric Bayesian approach is important because it provides flexible Hawkes kernels and quantifies their uncertainty.

Diffusion Maps Kalman Filter for a Class of Systems with Gradient Flows
In this paper, we propose a non-parametric method for state estimation of high-dimensional nonlinear stochastic dynamical systems, which evolve according to gradient flows with isotropic diffusion. We combine diffusion maps, a manifold learning technique,

Non Parametric Instrumental Regression [PDF]
The focus of the paper is the nonparametric estimation of an instrumental regression function ϕ defined by conditional moment restrictions stemming from a structural econometric model: E [Y − ϕ (Z) | W] = 0, and involving endogenous variables Y and Z and
