Saccharomyces cerevisiae Yeast‐Based Supplement and Breast Milk Supply: A Randomised Placebo‐Controlled Trial

Maternal brewer's yeast supplementation did not change the milk oligosaccharide (HMO) concentration, but more mothers felt their milk supply was increased, and fewer reported formula use by 6 months postpartum compared to those taking the placebo. This suggests the supplement may support breastfeeding, warranting further investigation in larger trials.

Deciphering the biosynthetic pathways of lichen acids

Summary Depsides and depsidones are polyketide‐derived lichen acids widely distributed in lichen thalli, yet the biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) responsible for their production remain poorly understood. Summary Iron (Fe) is a transition metal necessary for achieving essential physiological processes throughout the plant lifecycle. In Arabidopsis thaliana, secreting Fe‐mobilizing coumarins (FMC) is a key mechanism enabling roots to acquire nonbioavailable Fe present in soils.
