Power Components Analysis under Non-Sinusoidal Conditions
2020 International Multi-Conference on Industrial Engineering and Modern Technologies (FarEastCon), 2020The power components analysis under nonsinusoidal conditions is presented in the paper. The main idea of such analysis is to model and simulate the different ways of nonsinusoidal conditions forming. The main ways of non-sinusoidal conditions forming are considered and analyzed.

Power Quality and Resonances in Power Supply Systems with Non-Sinusoidal Loads
Advanced Engineering Forum, 2017The stress is made on the necessity to take into account the impact of higher while analysing the quality of voltage in power supply systems of coal mine. The process of resonances in power supply systems is explained in terms of physics, the sources generating this kind of interference are described.

Maximum power transfer and efficiency in non‐sinusoidal conditions
European Transactions on Electrical Power, 1999AbstractIn this paper the effects of harmonic distortion of the supply voltage and the power transmission efficiency η on the maximum power transferred to a linear load are examined. In order to quantify these effects, a power harmonic function ψ defined. It allows calculating the characteristics of the load and the maximum power transfer (where λ is a

AbstractIt is shown in this comment that recent development in the power theory of systems with non‐sinusoidal waveforms contradicts the conclusions presented in the paper “Apparent Power ‐ a Misleading Quantity in the Non‐Sinusoidal Power Theory: Are all Non‐Sinusoidal Power Theories Doomed to Fail? “ published by P. S. Filipski in ETEP 3(1993), no. J,

Harmonic distortion on the power system is a modern concern due to the technological advances in silicon technology and it presents an increased non-linear loading of the power system. The effects of harmonics are well known: customers could experience major production losses due to the loss of supply, for example; on the other hand, harmonic load ...

Power Extracted From Piezoelectric Harvesters Driven by Non-Sinusoidal Vibrations
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2019The performance of resonant piezoelectric vibration energy harvesters (RPVEHs) is strongly affected by the characteristics (shape, amplitude, spectrum, and so on) of the vibrations from which energy is harvested. In particular, the estimation of the power that can be harvested by a given RPVEH fed by a specific vibration source is of great importance ...

Three-Phase Active Power Filter under Non-sinusoidal Voltage Conditions
2009 International Conference on Electrical, Communications, and Computers, 2009This article presents a three-phase Active Power Filter (APF) for compensating reactive power and harmonic currents under distorted voltage conditions. This work is motivated by the necessity to correct the deteriorated power factor caused by the increase of consumer electronic equipment.

Sizing of capacitors to optimize the power factor at non-sinusoidal frequencies
Electric Power Systems Research, 2003Abstract Optimization criteria are presented which allows proper calculation of optimal power factor. Optimization minimizes the line loss, maximizes the power factor and maximizes the efficiency taking into consideration the skin effect. The performance of the obtained capacitor is discussed by means of numerical example.

FPGA based design and implementation of non-sinusoidal reactive power
2009 4th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2009A system module of reactive power measurement is proposed on the basis of analyzing the mathematic model in this paper. A FFT intelligence property (IP) core is designed to estimate the amplitude and phase of harmonic. Two multipliers and a subtraction also are designed to calculate reactive power.

Calibration of energy and power meters under non-sinusoidal conditions
IEE Proceedings - Science, Measurement and Technology, 2006Power systems contain distorted voltage and current waveforms. Currently, there is not a preferred set of voltage and current waveforms for the calibration of power and energy meters under non-sinusoidal conditions. The paper concentrates on the calibration of power and energy meters under sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal conditions.
