Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
2013Several DSC studies have given a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms of interaction of many non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs), such as indomethacin, ibuprofen, naproxen, nimesulide, ketoprofen and oxicam drugs with cell membranes or with simplified phospholipid-based biomembrane models. The consequent changes in the ...

Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs
2020Oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) include salicylates, fenamates, indoles, phenyl acetic acids, phenyl alkanoic acids, pyrazolone, para-aminophenols, and cycloxygenase-2 inhibitors. NSAIDs exert their role mainly through inhibition of cyclooxygenase and the prostaglandin synthesis [1, 2].

Chapter 21. Non-steroidal Antiinflammatory Agents
1967Publisher Summary This chapter discusses various aspects of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents. At the cellular level, anti-inflammatory agents stabilize erythrocyte membrane in hypotonic solutions and against thermal shock partly by causing membrane expansion up to 19%.
