Mixture models serve a crucial function in life testing experiments, particularly when dealing with a heterogeneous population. In our current research study, we have developed a 2-component mixture model of the exponential distributions (2-CMMEDs) for ...

Bayesian analysis of Arma models using noninformative priors [PDF]
Parameters in ARMA models are only locally identified. It is shown that the use of diffuse priors in these models leads to a preference for locally nonidentified parameter values. We therefore suggest to use likelihood based priors like the Jeffreys' priors which overcome these problems.

Noninformative Quantum q-Priors
We find, in an analysis involving four prior probabilities (p's), that the information-theoretic-based comparative noninformativity test devised by Clarke, and applied by Slater in a quantum setting, yields a ranking (p_{F_{q=1}} > p_{B} > p_{B_{q=1}trunc} >p_{F}) fully consistent with Srednicki's recently-stated criterion for priors of ...

Noninformative Priors for the Common Intraclass Correlation Coefficient [PDF]
In this paper, we develop the noninformative priors for the common intraclass correlation coefficient when independent samples drawn from multivariate normal populations. We derive the first and second order matching priors. We reveal that the second order matching prior dose not match alternative coverage probabilities up to the second order and is ...

Modeling growth curve parameters in Peruvian llamas using a Bayesian approach
The objective of this study was to fit four nonlinear models (Brody, von Bertalanffy, Gompertz and Logistic) to realizations of llama weight, using frequentist and Bayesian approaches.

The correlation between the parameters of the Gamma degradation process was described by the Jeffreys uninformative prior distribution. And the Bayesian model was used to obtain the full conditional distribution of each parameter.
